July 25th - visit of a dairy cow farm

Here in Brecht on the Theishof we had the possibility to see an original farm.

The owner explained us the daily life on a farm and showed us to milk a cow by hand. And the everybody could try to do it byself - like Robin:

We helped to feed the cows...

and found new friendship:

And some of us thought about starting a farmers career???

July 25th - workshop: barbecue

After visiting the butchery we had a lot of meat and on a nice barbecue place next to the river of Prüm Mika and Ville explained us how to prepare a real good barbecue.

We learned how to make different kind of sauces for the meat, how to prepare a skewer with meat and vegetables and how to prepare barbecue potatoes.

At least everybody had to barbecue his own meat...

and of course to enjoy it like Gabriele.

All in all a really good lunch again!

July 25th - visit of a butchery

Our exciting day started with a journey on a covered wagon.

Butcher Wolfgang Schares explained us how to prepare half a pig to food:

He showed us how to make sausages...

and how to prepare the meat for a barbecue.

July 24th - soccer tournament

Referee Mika umpires the four teams through a hard and not always fair :-) tournament.

Italian grace...

... Estonian power...

... Luxemburgian tranquility!

And the winner is, of course, Pilles team. As always...

July 24th - workshop: crepes, waffles and fruits

In that workshop we learned how to make marmelade from fresh fruits.

Just mix the fruits (here: goosebeeries) with sugar:

And heat them until boiling:

Then fill the marmelade (here: cheeries) in glasses:

But we learned as well to make our own crepes and waffles.
This is also very easy. Just mixe the dough:

and then bake it:

We made two differnt styles. A sweet waffle (above) that we ate with icecream and fresh fruits and a (only little bit sweet) crepes, that we filled with ham and cheese:
